I like to read clouds (who doesn't?) The photograph below if one looks closely shows the shape of a cherub (upper body) with wings, one clear arm coming out of the orange cloud. He could be holding a heart too. Some might see the profile of a man looking right and trying to catch something.
Creative minds can see many things. I'm sure most of you have looked up at the sky to see the man in the moon or the animals and faces in the clouds.
Yes, some call it "pareidolia" which is a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus being perceived as a form of apophenia. Common examples include seeing images of animals or faces in clouds and man in the moon.
The Rorschach Inkblot Test is a psychological test which uses pareidolia to gain insight into a person’s mental state by showing them images of inkblots and asking them to explain what they see.
Well! To me I would just call it "imagination" although I'm pretty certain almost everybody can see the face in the image above with a bit of concentration! I think the brain of some people is just wired differently too. allowing them to make sense of some patterns.
Einstein believed in allowing the imagination to roam freely to stimulate ingenious thought, who am I to not follow this example! :-)
About Me
- *Fairyduster
- I was born in the land of Cathars and musketeers in South-Western France (of the Cathars remain vivid memories in the folklore of the region and a language called "Occitan".) These days I enjoy the very different beauty and chemistry of the Sonoran Desert of Az in the U.S. A visit to my stores and products listed on the right will introduce you to my art, mostly dealing with fantasy, digital, often integrated art. Many pieces in the past were finalists in online exhibitions for digital art, here and abroad.
