Aurora borealis in Phoenix, AZ

Alien Skin Exposure 2 Photography Plug-In

About Tech is introducing the qualities of this plugin. However refer to the link at the bottom of my page to download the software as the offered link is no longer active.

I find this one to be very useful and interesting. Being a plug-in, it runs inside a host program such as Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Paint Shop Pro, or Fireworks, this version can also be used as a standalone.

Whether you're an old school photographer nostalgic for the look of film or someone who's only known digital, Exposure can bring a unique quality and new variety to your digital photography. Plenty of pros. Exposure 1 is NO LONGER required. If you own previous versions the updates are much cheaper than the original selling price.

Cloud Reading, Aeromancy

Yes there is such a thing as reading clouds. Clouds sometimes take on shapes and forms of all matter of things, some obscure and others quite clear. The images you see in the clouds can foretell what’s to come. They could also give an indication of your current state of mind. Believe it or not.

The following is a series of special clouds a different times in my life. Obviously this one is a white dog looking away, Perhaps chasing a fly or something else!



DOG

Seeing a dog or dogs in clouds suggests the company of loyal friends and faithful companions.

BABY

Seeing a baby, infant or toddler may be implying that a new family member is on the way.

As babies are a symbol of "new beginnings", seeing their image in a cloud can indicate a new phase or fresh start in your life. It may also indicate the undertaking of a new, important project.

Fun isn't it? Some are quite amazingly clear. You'll see.

Defined perhaps a bit with more obscurity this is actually a woman's face looking down on the Mesquite trees.

PEOPLE

Seeing a person in the clouds may indicate "you" the individual. It implies a growing independence.

Loving nature as much as I do, I always feel lucky to be able to watch so close to it. Nature is always soothing to the mind but also the body.

This is an interesting article about the psychological effects of urban livingthe powers of nature.

Mallard ducks and new family!

I was surprised a few days ago by my usual visitors, two mallard ducks but this time with their newly born family!

I gave them some treats like sunflower seeds and some dried oat for the little ones.

Such a pleasure to see them from so close, they were born near the small lake here and are not afraid of people especially the ones who give them food.

Wow! A new blog and entry!

I haven't touched this blog in ages. To make everything worse (or better) this morning, I deleted my old blog by accident , I guess it was meant to be, I have a good feeling about this one.

So many things happened since the last time but I don't wish for my blog to start on a less than pleasant subject, there is plenty of time for that! :-) Today will be a tribute to Arizona. Our state display a special beauty when it comes to nature and unique scenery. We are approaching our favorite season: "Winter" unlike many states ; no more dust storms, lower temperatures, ethereal blue skies, time for colorful petunias to grow, bushes and trees to still display magnificent blooms, a time for walking freely, enjoying our surroundings. Time also to anticipate native wildflowers' increasing display of blooms as March turns into April, a sight not to be missed.

With this weather come what we call: "snowbirds." Snowbirds are typically retirees who wish to avoid the snow and cold temperatures of northern winter, but maintain ties with family and friends by staying there the rest of the year. Some are business owners who have a second home in a warmer location or whose business can be easily moved from place to place, such as flea market and swap meet vendors. On another level some are people who suffer from seasonal affective disorder who wish to enjoy the longer daylight hours in the southern latitudes in winter.

We love "snowbirds" here, great for the economy of the state. Phoenix area golf courses love snowbirds too, they take advantage of those weekday tee times (casual outfits). You can always find someone from Minnesota, Iowa or Calgary on a golf course in the winter! Many "snowbirds" are Canadians who usually maintain residency in Canada in order to retain health benefits. So, even though some of the Canadians will stay in the U.S. for only a few months, some who can afford it, I guess, will stay for the full six months they are limited to before returning home.

An estimate 500.000 snowbirds flock each year here, they come because as they say: "we don't have to shovel sunshine!"

We know you drive more slowly, have strange license plates and seem to be lost sometimes but we still love you snowbirds, come on over and enjoy our beautiful weather and all the nature trails we cannot use in summer because of high heat.
